Many people who have not done well at weight loss hypnosis programs usually do not have a good picture or have a realistic expectation of what the hypnosis therapy session can bring to them or what it can help to do to their bodies. It is those same bunch of people who thinks that their years of accumulated fat in their body will just disappear with just one session of hypnosis for weight loss program. Going into such a program without a realistic expectation will most certainly cause the program to fail. No matter you are taking up a new diet program or a gym routine, you need to know what exactly the program is going to do for you and how long it takes and what are the milestones that you can measure against so you know you are making progress.

Taking up a weight loss hypnosis program thinking its a miracle pill is foolhardly. However, if used correctly, the program will give you the extra edge in gaining control over your weight. For many years, people have used self hypnosis to treat anxiety, ease phobias, and cure themselves of destructive habits. Self hypnosis kits are available on the market, but self hypnosis is not necessarily a one-size-fits-all proposition. Similarly, a man getting out of an abusive relationship with his wife may not find a female voice particularly soothing. And suppose the kit you buy addresses smoking cessation when what you really want to do is lose weight?

So why not create your own self-hypnosis kit? Your self hypnosis kit should contain several items.

Progressive Relaxation Tape or CD

The first thing your self hypnosis kit needs is a progressive relaxation tape or CD.

Progressive relaxation starts with your toes and leads you to relax each major muscle group. Once you are completely relaxed, the trance can be deepened by suggestions of sleepiness, “sinking” into a deeper trance, etc.

There are literally dozens of CDs that offer progressive relaxation. Some have male readers, others female. Some include music, others include white noise, others no sound but the voice of the reader. If possible, try a few of these CDs to find out which works best for you.

You may also want to record the CD yourself, or have a friend do so, if a familiar voice is more comforting to you.

List of Affirmations or Images

Before you start your hypnosis, have a clear idea of what you want to get out of the session. If deep relaxation is all, that’s fine, but many people focus on things that they want to change while they’re in a trance state.

Write down what you’re going to say to yourself and the images you plan to use and keep them with your self hypnosis kit. Keep your messages positive. For instance, don’t say, “I’m not going to be fat anymore.” Instead say, “I see myself thin and beautiful,” or, if you can bypass words, just picture yourself thin and beautiful.

Blankets, Candles, Etc.

Whenever you practice self-hypnosis, try to use the same environment–the same room, the same blanket over your lap, the same scented candles or incense, etc. As you continue to self hypnotize, you will find yourself reaching a trance more and more easily. Eventually, you may not need the relaxation tape at all–just being in the familiar atmosphere will ease you into a trance.

Once your self hypnosis kit is complete, all you need to do is set aside thirty minutes or so a day to practice reaching a trance state and using your affirmations. In no time at all, you’ll be reaping the benefits of deeper relaxation and enhanced self esteem.

The idea of putting away your cigarettes always sounds great until you’re faced with the moment of truth. Then the excuses suddenly start to roll in … and you know you can find a million reasons not to stop smoking. Besides, you can always stop tomorrow, or next week after the vacation is over, or after the big office party at the end of the month. It’s easy to find reasons not to stop smoking.

Here’s some stop smoking information that might help you get beyond those excuses.

First, you need to understand how your smoking addiction works. There are two primary factors at play …

1) Addiction to nicotine: nicotine is the highly addictive substance in cigarettes that keeps you craving them. It doesn’t take long once you have that first cigarette for your body to start yearning for additional doses of nicotine. In fact, your body will gradually begin to require more and more nicotine to satisfy this yearning. Side note: while nicotine itself is not that harmful, many of the ingredients found in cigarettes (such as tar) can kill you over time.

2) Mental addiction: smoking can quickly become part of your daily routines and habits. For example, you may no longer be able to enjoy your morning cup of coffee without a cigarette. Or you may have developed the “need” to get together with your fellow co-workers at every break for a quick cigarette. It’s deceptively easy to integrate smoking into your daily activities without even realizing it.

Those are the two primary factors that will fight with you when you decide to stop smoking.

So how do you deal with these factors?

Fortunately, there are a number of stop smoking aids that can help you with your nicotine addiction. NTR (nicotine replacement therapy) is the most common method. Using gum, patches, or nasal sprays (and even injections in some cases), nicotine is introduced directly into your body to satisfy your cravings. Gradually, the level of nicotine is reduced until you no longer need the aid. This process minimizes your withdrawal symptoms.

For those of you who prefer not to introduce more nicotine into your bodies, there are natural products that will essentially do the same thing … substitute for your nicotine need until you no longer experience the cravings. You may also want to know that by combining one of these methods with a stop smoking hypnosis program, you’ll have the greatest chance of success. In fact, according to some research, a combination of hypnosis with another stop smoking aid can achieve an 80 percent success rate.

Remember … whichever avenue you decide to pursue, you should seek professional advice. Your doctor will be able to prescribe you the best medical treatment in accordance with your health conditions.

The psychological side of stopping your smoking can sometimes be a little more difficult to overcome. It requires that you break habits that have long since become part of your daily routine. This is usually accomplished by replacing bad habits with good habits. For example, instead of taking that break with your fellow smokers, take a short walk. Instead of a cigarette with your morning coffee, try a muffin.

In addition, many people find it helpful to join a support group when they decide to quit smoking. This can be particularly helpful with getting over the psychological aspects of the process.

There will always be excuses for why you shouldn’t stop smoking. However, the worst of the process rarely extends more than a week, while the benefits will last you a lifetime. With so many effective aids to help you get past the cravings and withdrawal, you really only need to focus on finding alternatives to satisfy your psychological needs.

Do yourself a favor … take the plunge and get started on a smoke-free life today.

Along with doing Hypnotherapy with them and teaching them Self Hypnosis, I also give them a few tips to make sure that the transition into a happy and content non-smoker is a happy one. I recommend that the tips below be used following a session of Hypnosis or the use of a high-quality Stop Smoking Hypnosis recording.

So if you have picked your day to quit, you’re ready to begin. Here are my tips on becoming a happy and content non-smoker.

1.Drink plenty of water. By increasing the amount of water that you drink you will be increasing your chances of an easier transition to being a non-smoker. The nicotine (the drug which you are addicted to) that is in your body needs to be flushed out and an increase in the amount of water that you drink helps you to do just that. It also hydrates your body, which in turn will give you a greater sense of wellbeing and allow you to feel healthier - this could benefit you if you tended to feel a bit crabby after giving up previously.

2.Do something different and keep busy. In those first vital days, make sure that you keep busy, and do stuff that you like doing as this will keep you occupied and less likely to think about smoking. Maybe spend some time with your friends or family and go out for the day. To make sure that your habit stays broken, it may be helpful to break your routine for a few days. During their day a smoker will associate a lot of things with his or her smoking, such as, having a beer, driving the car and after having ***. Still do all of these things, however do them differently! For example - have your beer at a smoke free bar for a few days!

3.Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Just like drinking more water, eating healthily allows you to feel healthier and gives you a greater sense of wellbeing. This is great as in this frame of mind and body you are more likely to succeed as you are giving yourself more to loose! Try it - you will feel great!

So there you have it. These are not all of my tips; however they will certainly help to take the edge of giving up smoking for you. Good luck and enjoy your new healthier lifestyle!

The statements that you are going to use should be something positive and convey pretty good messages. Never start off with anything which discourages you like ‘I am going for trekking no matter how tired I am’. These sentences will make you even more tired and weaker. So while you select something make sure that there is nothing negative in it. Even if there is anything told so, try to make it in the positive manner to encourage your spirits. The sentences that you select should make you touch the sky as you need to tell you are the best.

Select a calm place for practicing self hypnosis technique with closed doors, phones disconnected and in comfortable position so that no one is there to disturb you. Then sit back straight on a chair and focus your sight to the point which lies a little above the level of your eyes. Repeat the word ‘Relax’ few times as you breathe in and out. When you are breathing, just push off all the bad breath causing you trouble and breath in to inhale fresh air.

Then, keep your eyes shut and trying listening to some minute sounds like water fall, rain on the roof and lot more. Also note the rise of temperature, the weight of the body which lands up on the chair you are on and things like that. Now it is the time for you to enter into your subconscious mind by thinking that you are walking down the stairs to reach a beautiful garden at the end. Imagine as if you are passing each layer of cloud when you descend each step and thus making your more and more relaxed and thus all the worries and negative thoughts leaving you.

Now you are to step on the green lawn which is bright with the rays of the sun. After proper relaxation start off by repeating the words or sentences framed by you three times with a little gap after each repetition. After this process imagine as if you are climbing the steps to the top. After reaching the top of the stairs, the self hypnosis technique is finished and you are in the normal state of mind. This time you will be new person and giving a try each time you have problems is a good practice.

I have heard a lot about hypnotherapy. Some are true and some may be fictitious. I don’t know which ones are true and which ones are false. I have heard that hypnosis can solve a lot of mental disorder. Can it cure anxiety?

My second question is, can a hypnotist completely take over the personality of his patient? I mean, can a hypnotist turn a peace-loving innocent type of person into a violent and cruel kind of criminal?
